Bylines

Members of Bylines have been heavily involved with the Bay Area music scene for nearly two decades. Their sound can be described as melodic, modern indie-rock, with a 90s alternative flavor. Formed in 2016, Bylines released their debut album, Summit Road, on February 15th, 2019.

“It’s tricky starting a band as an adult,” Dave Cohen, guitar player of Bylines says. “There is a gift when you make music with your best friends for so long. You get to know the ins and outs of what will or won’t work as a band.” The gift, Cohen goes on to explain, is in the experience. “It’s one thing to make a song that a listener can enjoy. The beauty of Bylines however, lies in the purpose. Playing together for so long has led to a long journey through many deaths, births, marriages, separations, and everything in between. Our purpose is simple: tell those stories in a way that people can relate to.”

The result is Summit Road: a collection of songs from friends who have been “through it”. If the listener was ever looking for a simple, relatable soundtrack to their formative years...Summit Road is that soundtrack.

Summit Road was released on February 15th, 2019.
