CADAVER - Official Biography
Formed in Norway in 1988 by Anders Odden, CADAVER holds the honour of being Norway’s first death metal band. Over 36 years later, they remain a unique force, having pioneered a strange style that ignored the rulebook long before the "Norwegian sound" became a global phenomenon.
After Odden won a battle with cancer, he and drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth) unleashed a venomous new chapter. Following 2020's acclaimed Edder & Bile, they released the psychedelic horror-show The Age Of The Offended in 2023. It stands as an angry, fucked-up album for angry times, defiantly created against the odds.
In 2025, the band opened their vaults with Hymns of Misanthropy, a "lost" collection of 1991 recordings. This legacy culminates on November 28th, 2025, with the monumental re-issue of their seminal debut, Hallucinating Anxiety. Originally released in 1990, this is the record that started Norwegian death metal. A new generation can now experience the raw ferocity that cemented CADAVER as true pioneers.
