A stormy tribe of vintage spirits, melting a 60s soul and ethereal rock potion.

Fronted by <a href="spotify:artist:0HLsMM1wRn57ElBDjU8pUs" data-name="Frankie Forman">Frankie Forman</a> with a vocal sound that marks the dark place where Trip Hop, Soul and Bluesy Rock n Roll meet, the band released their first single on the first full moon of 2022 with ‘<a href="spotify:album:0dg7cjc6I9qCRBfYwv2MOn" data-name="Cleo">Cleo</a>’.

Their debut collection of songs have been mixed by Grammy award winning and <a href="spotify:artist:2mVVjNmdjXZZDvhgQWiakk" data-name="Khruangbin">Khruangbin</a>’s very own, Steve Christensen.

Cairo Moon rose from the ashes of Rocksteady Punk band <a href="spotify:artist:0cuc7YArsF8DoegWy6fsSz" data-name="The Vex">The Vex</a>, who began writing with Frankie, a regular face and rising solo artist on the live London Circuit. Joining forces with other established artists and forming a phenomenal rhythm section with <a href="spotify:artist:7zdYI18tcLH2zr5ogLbk6K" data-name="Roseland En Why Cee">Roseland En Why Cee</a> on bass and Oli Booker on drums, who performed and started in Danny Boyle&#39;s film &#39;<a href="spotify:track:2susJ6Mmb2FINJJIuqOL0j" data-name="Yesterday">Yesterday</a>&#39;. Their songs were arranged and recorded over the worldwide lockdown.

The 5-piece outfit share a love for all things 60s, sleazy and magical. The deep grooving rhythm section and graceful yet spiky guitar lines weave around Frankie’s spellbinding vocals.

In addition to 9 band originals, Cairo Moon have also included a cover of the <a href="spotify:artist:1YzCsTRb22dQkh9lghPIrp" data-name="Billie Holiday">Billie Holiday</a> classic ‘<a href="spotify:track:4i8PXOWQsOCas5iTE1Eyvd" data-name="Gloomy Sunday">Gloomy Sunday</a>’ to show the depth and breadth of the groups influences from genres of music typically outside of their indie and pop roots.
