Cajun Åland is a project that brings together the folk traditions of Åland Islands (FIN) and the rich Cajun heritage of Louisiana (USA). Formed after the musicians met in Lafayette in February 2025, the project continues the artistic exploration begun by Thor Ahlgren’s earlier initiative Lo å Lä, which examined how the folk music of Skåne (SWE) could be reinterpreted through a Cajun perspective. With Cajun Åland, the focus shifts to the musical legacy of the Åland Islands.
