Cale Anderson (me) doesn’t really know what the hell in thee world he is doing.
But thine wisdom tells us that we are settling into the part of the journey that he admits he (probably) may be meant for small audiences.
Cale started playing a Yamaha keyboard in the wake of 2001 and created little songs, and jammed out, on this cheap digital piano. It had samples of other pianos, brass, orchestras, cellos, guitars etc. that would actually sound cool in context with a background drum beat. Sometimes even the Monkey Sample, or the Lion Sample would be bloody cool on top of his cheesy cheap cello sound.
Cale started messing around with his Dad’s 1970(?) Takamine F340s. It wasn’t the Martin lawsuit version, but the revised headstock with the Takamine logo you see in stores today. He played this guitar up until a mental health battle in 2022 when he smashed it literally into a 1000s little pieces because he thought his Dad was evil. (My dad’s the bomb, I’m insane).
In 2017, after 2014’s Free as Sheep, he released x26 when he was brand new to production. The whole project was a one day 25hr or so session on GarageBand using a Zoom H2n field recorder plugged into the 2011 iMac.
