Calico

Calico is a London-born duo blending alternative indie with soulful folk influences. <a href="spotify:artist:3DzeH7pNyDNsuaIrDM6roh" data-name="Rina">Rina</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5bl0SAm16Wdn1vuMOmO2GS" data-name="Theo Archer">Theo Archer</a> first met during a spontaneous late-night jam in a friend’s home studio in east London. Months later, they reconnected to write music—what followed was the glorious summer of 2023, that allowed for the birth of the songs that birthed their sound.

While their debut single, “Tapestries (Unravelling),” embraces folk-inspired storytelling and organic instrumentation, the rest of their music expands beyond that—pulling from a wide range of influences to create something fresh and unpredictable.

Whether performing as a duo or with a full band featuring banjo, violin, and cello, Calico balances stripped-back vulnerability with expansive soundscapes. Now, they’re working on new releases, including an exciting project recorded at Abbey Road Studios, promising to push their sonic boundaries while staying true to their heartfelt songwriting.
