Finding fame as a 12-year-old on the Spanish television singing competition La Voz Kids, Calum Heaslip was born to an Irish father and Andalusian mother in Granada, Spain. He was raised in Palma de Mallorca, where he began taking guitar lessons at age five and at times sang with his musician father, something that gave him the confidence to audition for the first season of La Voz Kids in 2014. Though he didn't advance to the final rounds of the series, his stage presence drew the attention of label Pep's Music Group, which released his first single, the pop party anthem "Turn It Up," in 2014. His debut album, Hey Babe!, was released under the name Calum in early 2015. Produced by Daniel Embrojo Bisbal and containing a mix of Spanish- and English-language teen pop songs, it hit number one on the Spanish album chart. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
