Camille Camille is a Belgian singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist currently living in Ghent, Belgium.
After their paths crossed in 2019, Camille and Swedish producer Anders Lagerfors teamed up for her promising debut album Could You Lend Me Your Eyes, a collection of unique folk songs and haunting melodies (released on On The Level in 2021). As a result of being disrupted by the pandemic, the process of making this record has been quite a singular one. Part of the songs were recorded at the legendary Nackvings Studio in Gothenburg whilst the rest was humbly captured in Camille’s bedroom at her temporary home in Leipzig, Germany.
Following the warmly acclaimed release, Camille got to hit the road with Liverpool based King Hannah on their first UK tour as support for the band. She then jumped aboard a second time and traveled Europe with them once more before doing it again accompanying Brooklyn’s duo Widowspeak.
The singer has then been living aboard her floating home on the waters of the dutch capital for a little while, wandering between Holland and Belgium where her bandmates and family resides before recently returning to more familiar grounds.
Although longing for a stable home, Camille says moving places keeps her senses awake.
’Waving’, a collaborative EP with good friend and long time collaborator Sam De Nef was released on Unday Records in November 2023.
