Capital Loss

Capital Loss is a solo project created by artist Nick DeOliveira in Pennsylvania, USA. Performing in all of his compositions, Nick is responsible for nearly all of the sounds you hear in a Capital Loss recording (with the exception of some hired help and a few guest appearances). The music of Capital Loss spans musical styles and genres from folk to jazz-rock fusion, and features an eclectic range of instrumentation among each of the tracks. “Anthology” is the first and only Capital Loss album (sort of), which was supposed to be released as a series of singles. With only two of them ever published at present, it remains a mystery whether or not the complete album will ever come to light. Set to be a collection of different sounds and musical ideas, Anthology is/was/may someday be an homage paid by Nick to the music that inspired him to create his own. The name of the project, “Capital Loss,” is a nod to the finance he studied while in business school, as well as a way to poke fun at his nonexistent chances of ever breaking even on this endeavor...
