Cardiogram a.k.a. John Paul Morrissey is an Irish composer, producer and songwriter. His work runs the gamut of modern electronic and instrumental styles, and is made as much for headphones as the dance floor.
The common theme running through his work is escapism - and the different forms it takes. Whether that’s being alone with your own thoughts or disappearing into a crowd, staying hidden and yet choosing to be a part of something bigger than yourself, he asks the listener: “What does escape mean to each of us and how do we achieve it?”.
His debut album "Headland" draws inspiration from the coastal landscape in which he lives and is a Catherine wheel of sound design and beats; the synthetic and the organic married to undeniable melodies and a signature melancholy. Sometimes beautifully haunting, sometimes blisteringly intense, "Headland" is a soundtrack for escape wherever we seek it.
