Carlin Tripp

Carlin Tripp finds his roots in the New England folk rock scene. With an acoustic guitar as his main source of inspiration, he began writing songs in the early 2000&#39;s as he lived a gypsy life traveling around the country. In 2012 he met <a href="spotify:artist:0zovmu7OK0WyCpZW6lLnrI" data-name="Jay Psaros">Jay Psaros</a> at a Boston Marathon Bombing fundraiser and the two formed a bond which endures to this day. Jay produced Tripp&#39;s record <a href="spotify:album:4iKu1jZVXoEwHnWxhu1cmk" data-name="The Shape of the Island">The Shape of the Island</a>, which he recorded at the Great North Sound Society in Maine and earned him nominations for Artist of the Year and Album of the Year from the New England Music Awards in 2016.

In 2020 he started collaborating with producer <a href="spotify:artist:1LX3sAGyZ45RvkF0jOUONG" data-name="Mickelson">Mickelson</a> who helped him hone a more rock and roll sound with their first collaborative release <a href="spotify:album:5A2ioAt6m7X2sfQiIvY4ll" data-name="Float Upstream">Float Upstream</a>. In 2021 he met <a href="spotify:artist:3xpCHCLkGkGNlcs7bvRqom" data-name="Eric Michael Lichter">Eric Michael Lichter</a> and a new sound was born drawing from Eric&#39;s pedal steel and piano playing. The first song they made together was <a href="spotify:album:1EWQ5gXjLyVMnuNamR7kMz" data-name="Somethin&#39; Left To Say">Somethin&#39; Left To Say</a> and in 2024 Tripp released the 5 song EP <a href="spotify:album:0ha3MwL48bk4pKMA5aPFbb" data-name="Every Changing Season">Every Changing Season</a> which he recorded at Eric&#39;s Dirt Floor Studio in Haddam, CT.

Tripp maintains a busy gigging schedule and has performed on national stages opening for bands such as <a href="spotify:artist:5mxB08ktCukEhGMg2YZeEv" data-name="Colin Hay">Colin Hay</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:73wKjls7iO2576Hfhr6x9S" data-name="Strangefolk">Strangefolk</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6clbbhnIqpHnqxwtOWcilg" data-name="Little River Band">Little River Band</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:73spEk5voL22ZXjoSXZmh8" data-name="Will Evans">Will Evans</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4UXRN4NEJ34dGgt4qGQ3Wk" data-name="The Mallett Brothers Band">The Mallett Brothers Band</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6ZV6lGY0prbqpTD0Md8i29" data-name="Scotty McCreery">Scotty McCreery</a>.
