Carmelo Pipitone is a acoustic guitarist, a songwriter and producer.
He was born in Petrosino, at the time a hamlet of Marsala, in 1978. In Sicily, he took part in his first musical projects, the most significant of which was the band RYM.In Bologna, in 2002, he founded Marta Sui Tubi together with Giovanni Gulino. With the band, he released six studio albums and took part in the Sanremo Music Festival in 2013.
Notable collaborations include those with Lucio Dalla, Franco Battiato, Antonella Ruggiero, and Enrico Ruggeri.
In 2014, he helped form the band O.R.k.
SOLO CAREER
He made his solo debut in 2018 with the release of his first album Cornucopia. In 2020, he released his second solo album, Segreto Pubblico, again produced by LEF.
In 2023, he released his first live album, titled Solo dal vivo,each track was recorded in a different location.His new album of unreleased songs, titled Piedi in acqua, OTHER PROJECTS
In 2018, together with Ettore and Marco Giuradei (founders of the Brescian band Giuradei) and Luca Ferrari of Verdena, he formed the band Dunk Italian Band
AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
In 2009, Pipitone received the Insound Award for Best Acoustic Guitarist.
