Carolyn Hunter is a singer, songwriter, and poet.
Originally from the suburbs of DC, Carolyn flew West with dreams of starring on Broadway. After graduating from UCLA’s School of Theater Film and Television, she decided to take a different route, taught herself guitar, and began to pursue life as a folk singer.
On a small surf island in the southeast, Carolyn founded folk-rock band “The Fam Band,” known for their Joni Mitchell-meets-Allman Brothers grooves.
After moving back West to Colorado, she co-founded indie-folk band “The Heartstring Hunters’ —known for its crowd pleasing three part harmonies. Finding solace in Colorado, Carolyn joined the Daniel Rodriguez Band (Elephant Revival) as a vocalist in year, performing across the country, and on his latest record “Sojourn of a Burning Sun.” Carolyn is oft sought after as a collaborator, known for her fairylike melodies, Joni Mitchell subtleties, and Tracy Chapmanesque tones. She has shared stages around the world with Lang Lang, Karla Bonoff, The Lil Smokies, and many more.
She has released four full length albums and a collection of poems titled Photographic Memory Camera. Most recently, a synth-pop album “Lovelight” that reflects more than #years of musical and personal growth, as Carolyn cultivated a strong movement practice, and discovered a love of electronic beats.
Hunter now spends her days writing and rediscovering the world through motherhood. She lives in Colorado with her husband, son, and dog.
