CartierP grew up in a working-class neighborhood, raised by a single mother who juggled two jobs while instilling in him a relentless work ethic. His earliest memories were filled with the soulful gospel of his grandmother’s radio and the pounding bass of OutKast and Three 6 Mafia from his older cousin’s car. Those sounds fused into something deeper—a hunger to express, to escape, to evolve.
At seventeen, CartierP started producing beats on a second-hand laptop. The sound was gritty—Southern rock guitar loops over hard-hitting drums, paired with his unique vocal style that slid effortlessly between melodic hooks and biting verses. His lyrics told stories of struggle and survival, but always with a spark of triumph. He collides new genres with old & created a blend between soul of the South with the bite of modern hip hop.
He stayed in Hartsville, recording his debut singles, in the very room he started in. He brought in local talent, shouted out neighborhood heroes, and shot every video in the places that raised him. The music was a blend of heavy 808s, heavy guitars, and storytelling sharp enough to rival the biggest names in the game.
CartierP is an outcast that’s uniquely redefining Southern Rock/Rap music. He’s not just an artist—he’s a movement, blending rebellion, rhythm, and has a drive only someone from Hartsville would.
And he’s just getting started.
