Growing up on a farm in rural Tennessee, Cassandra Coleman spent countless hours singing stream-of-consciousness melodies at her family’s piano, quietly unlocking the enchanting originality that would come to define her music. Despite the refuge she found in music, and her undeniable gift, Coleman long wrestled with whether pursuing it as a career was truly right for her. After a quiet season of transformation in her mid-20s she made the move to Nashville — the self-made singer/songwriter held down three jobs (all up until just a few months ago) while devoting all her spare time to build up a batch of original songs rooted in her warm and powerful vocals and lavish form of indie-folk/pop. Soon enough, her singular songwriting and sound caught the attention of heavyweights like 11-time Grammy-winning super-producer Jack Antonoff and paved the way for her signing to Warner Records in late 2024. As she gets set to take the stage at major summer festivals like Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Shadow of the City, Coleman now makes her debut with a captivating single called “Coming of Age.” Recorded with Antonoff and all the members of Bleachers at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York City, the soul-searching epic gorgeously encapsulates her journey as an artist, charting an exhilarating path from self-doubt to unbridled self-possession.
