Born in Jakarta, Cassandra Sihombing (Casey) began singing at 3 years old. She started performing gospel music at church and began to pursue her professional singing career with the release of her 1st worship album Doa Bapa Kami in 2012, directed by Harry Anggoman.
Her music & vocal character feature a classical crossover genre, inspired by her favorite sopranos: Hayley Westenra, Katherine Jenkins, Sandi Patty. “Doa Bapa Kami” was the single from her 2012 debut, seamlessly waves the sacred verses of “The Lord’s Prayer” with original melodies by her father. The remarkable fusion of her soaring high notes showcases her impressive vocal range & classical crossover essence — introducing a fresh & distinctive sound to Indonesia’s worship music scene.
Emerging as a rising soprano, Cassandra performs for exclusive Batak cultural-music concerts, enchanting audiences with her original songs “Malungun” & “Dijou Mulak Tu Toba”. Infused with melodious notes and poetic Batak-lyrics, these songs evoke a sense of nostalgia of Batak tribe’s hometown in Toba.
Casey’s newest single release, “Petang ke Pagi”, is her debut-folk/acoustic love song. The track exudes vintage vibes, offering a delightful escape from the hustle of city life, weaving melancholic lyrics that capture the essence of bidding farewell to a loved one during a last evening together.
Worship-spirituals, Batak culture, Indie-pop / folk — everything in between.
