Progressive Rock band Cassandra's Curse hails from Dallas, Texas. The band started in 2007 and currently consists of Charan SpidaFingaz on Guitars/Vocals, Kelley "Viking" Raines on Keys, Gary "Samurai" Sanders on Bass Guitar, Rishab "ProDigi" Thadani on Drums.
After releasing their debut album False Flag in 2009, they took 8 years to finish their new album Groom Lake – Act 1 that was released in 2019. This time, Cassandra's Curse created a concept album with a bent on storytelling without losing their core approach of making memorable music. The songs are interspersed with an audio drama, giving them a background for the mood and essence of the lyrics and music.
"It's a bold statement we are making with this ambitious concept album," says Charan. "I was inspired by Queensryche’s iconic album Operation Mindcrime, and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. Not to mention the TV show & science fiction staple The X-Files. We are going to have lovers of the classic concept albums and old school Prog fans seeing it for what it is - an experience that is more than the run-of-the-mill music album. And then we would have, I expect, some who will scratch their heads scoffing at the need for this audio drama. From where I sit, it is a necessary step for Cassandra's Curse to take these risks as we grow as a band." Ultimately, it is for the listeners to decide whether this brave and unusual concept album speaks to them on an individual level.
