Punk Rock 4-piece Casuist brings their sound into a new era with "Let The Colors Bleed." The bands' first release in 2020, "Guilt Trips and Apathy," was an emotionally-charged EP that focused on breaking away from "the same sad songs about relationships, make-ups and break-ups" and gave the world its first taste of Casuist's authentic punk sound. The band takes cues from the roots of the introverted 90's punk attitudes of bands such as The Descendants, The Get Up Kids, Lagwagon, and Screeching Weasel and touches it up with the classic yet contemporary trappings Thrice, Drug Church, Touche Amore and Joyce Manor.
When it was time to hit the studio, Casuist wanted to make sure that this release would reflect not only their signature sound, but one that showed off their growth and maturity as a band. The band went into the studio this past September and recorded the EP with LA native and producer Alex Estrada over at The Pale Moon Ranch. It turned into a record that we are extremely proud of and one we can not wait to share with our fans and the world. "[Alex] is a great producer who always knew the perfect way to fill in the missing pieces for our concept" says Casuist frontman Ben Frank, "we stepped out of the comfort zone on this one and we're excited for the day we can set it free." The EP was recorded over the course of 4 days and 3 nights. "Let The Colors Bleed" is the bands' most refined sound to date and one they plan to celebrate with their fans into the future.
