Catchaser is a weekend project I (Daniel Ciurlizza) set up and produced with my composer/producer/sound designer friends who I mix, write, produce, and work with.
When I'm not working on this, I'm:
- Writing music for films, trailers, ads, and other visual media;
- Cooking dinner too late and listening to an audiobook;
- Thinking of different ways I can be better at helping the people I work and interact with.
The name CATCHASER is inspired by that pesky cat (perhaps fictional... perhaps non-fiction) that tricked me into picking up its poo when I was a kid. When I was around 10 years old, my parents and I lived in a house that had decorative red rocks in the front yard. I was picking some up and tossing them to the other side of the yard because this was the 90's and literally one of a few fun things to do was to play with rocks. So I pick up this reddish-brown rock... and it's SOFT. That's when I realize it's POOP. Suddenly, the neighbor's cat materializes behind me, just twenty feet away. If I'm remembering correctly, that cat scratched me pretty bad a time before, so I got really mad at it. I picked up a rock and threw it at the cat. The rock misses! I pick up another rock and throw it again. The rock *completely* misses! I give up, cool down, and am grateful for my bad aim. I go inside and wash my hands. That day, I became the Catchaser. This is my superzero origin story.
