Cecilia Piehl

Cecilia Piehl, piccolo and flute specialist, received her BM degree from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina, followed by a two-year fellowship for piccolo specialization. She later earned the MM and DMA Degrees in Music from The University of Alabama. Her principal flute professors are <a href="spotify:artist:6IHh5CWkgV0EfVrnb8bahQ" data-name="Lars Nilsson">Lars Nilsson</a> and Sheryl Cohen. During her educational years, Cecilia performed in numerous master classes, including those given by <a href="spotify:artist:0zkNidYy9GbSYRZvtzinnE" data-name="Aurèle Nicolet">Aurèle Nicolet</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2aE7keIKPKnwrDI3u3unU5" data-name="Felix Renggli">Felix Renggli</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3McIEM8HgV6yiAFEJVE8zS" data-name="András Adorján">András Adorján</a>. For her DMA Degree, she wrote an annotated bibliography of Argentinean Solo Flute Music, thus beginning her interest in promoting the flute music of South America.

Piehl held positions as piccoloist and assistant principal flutist with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, piccoloist with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra in Alabama, and principal flute with the Ludwig Symphony Orchestra in Atlanta. She appeared as guest soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra of Niteroi (Brazil), National Symphony Orchestra (Chile), Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina), Orquesta de Cámara (Ecuador), and Tulepo Symphony Orchestra (USA). Noted for performing with the Hamelin flute quartet, Flautas Argentinas Flute Choir and conducting the Enclave Flute Quartet, she is in demand throughout Argentina and the US as a specialist in Latin American music.
