Adventurous pop-noir and artpop trio from Holland, with vocalist Petra de Winter, who has a four octave vocal range, Pim van Riezen on keys and Marcel Peters on double bass. 4 released albums: a live album and 3 studio albums, one of them was distributed by record label Coast to Coast. They received excellent press reviews in the media (visit the reviews page on the band’s website). The first track on the ‘Straight Stories’ album is recorded with Fay Lovsky on theremin and singing saw. Chabliz took up influences from dreampop, rock, opera and gothic jazz. They won the Public Award of the Delft Fringe Festival. In 2016 the band was invited to play in New York City, USA, and performed 4 concerts there. They also play(ed) in Holland, Belgium and on several occasions in Bucharest, Romania. Piano, synths, double bass and, sometimes, drums and guitar. They’ve been compared to Beach House, Kate Bush, Nina Hagen, Ute Lemper, Nico, Lydia Lunch, Laurie Anderson + Nick Cave. Influenced by Joy Division, Bowie and Bach. Chabliz is touring again in 2025, partly with online livestream concerts for fans abroad. In May ‘24 they released a new music video.
