Chad’s world travels as a composer for a traveling TV show and a stint as a producer in Brazil provided the fuel to create several albums fusing his latin rhythm sensibility with his Americana roots which ultimately won an Independent Music Award and several San Diego Music Awards.
But, awards don’t pay the bills and the next decade found Farran getting pummeled in the corporate grind, tying the knot, buying a house and acquiring an awesome set of tools in the process.
While this may have sucked the creativity out of some people, Chad has managed to squeeze out just the right amount of juice to concoct a beautiful new album that tells his tales of life, love, friends, family and fun in a style that is more akin to Paul Simon and Paul McCartney than his previous life in the Brazilian sphere of Caetano Veloso and Carlinhos Brown.
While Farran plays most of the parts on the 12 songs of his newest effort, After All, he enlists the talents of several previous bandmates to congeal an original sound that has a classic rock flavor but an indie rock vibe. Think if the two Pauls started a band with James Mercer and Dan Auerbach, it might sound something like this.
