CHAI, whose full name is Ni Made Chainia Lovera Lilipaly, was born in Surabaya on June 5, 2004. She began her career as a model and gained recognition by participating in Indonesia's Next Top Model Cycle 2. However, Chai's passion for music has always been evident, and she started pursuing a music career early on. At the age of 14, she participated in the talent search show The Voice Kids Season 2, where she joined TULUS's team and progressed to the Battle stage.
In 2022, CHAI independently released her first single titled "Pejuang Hidup Bahagia," which caught her fans by surprise, as she was primarily known as a model at that time. Recognizing her potential as both a model and a musician, RANS MUSIC signed her as an exclusive artist in 2023. Under the label, CHAI prepared to release five singles, starting with "BERCANDA," a song she wrote herself.
