Chalwa Band

CHALWA BAND is formed by a group of reggae fans from Uribe Kosta (Bizkaia). Its beginnings take us until the end of 2006, when several current members of the band decided to create a melodic reggae project.

In 2009 we created the promotional song for the Armintza festival "Txapel reggae" together with the collaboration of the Basque singers King Konsul and Bita (Akatz). With this, to give a new push to the festival we also created together with the Armintza party committee the promotional video clip of the festival.

Two years later, in 2011, our first job came to light. The album was released under the name "Bass Country", where you can hear roots, rocksteady and dub sounds. We recorded our first album with the well-known producer Roberto Sanchez at "A Lone Muzik Studio".

During the pandemic we recorded our new album ("Liberation") again at A Lone Muzik Studio. It has been a tribute to our musical career and we are very happy about it. Liberation is a varied synthesis, the result of the work of ChalwaBand in recent years, through a selection of songs and diverse themes, all directed directly to the listener and at the same time revolving around a concept, freedom in different ways. The lyrics are a call to break the molds, a warning about material ties, a journey through the different states of love and above all a song to the power of reggae music. Enjoy it!
