Chaminda Silva is a talented Sri Lankan guitarist best known as the bass and classical guitarist of
the renowned Marians Band, where he has performed for over 21 years. Born on October 29, 1975,
and educated at Christ King College, Chaminda began his musical journey in 1996 by joining the Sri
Lanka Army Band, later transitioning into the mainstream music scene.

In 2004, he became a key member of Marians, contributing as a bass guitarist, classical guitarist,
and vocalist. He holds formal qualifications in music, including Grade 3 (Royal Schools of Music)
and Grade 5, 8, and ATCL (Trinity College London) in classical guitar.

Chaminda has toured extensively, performing in countries such as Japan, USA, UK, Germany,
France, Australia, Canada, Greece, Italy, Spain, Korea, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Lebanon, Malaysia, and
more. He has taken part in prestigious concerts like Clarence Wijewardena Unplugged, recorded for
numerous artists, and played iconic guitar parts in Marians Unplugged for songs like Hotel
California, Tears in Heaven, Really Loved a Woman, and More Than Words.

He is also the creator of the original song "Peradina Sanda" and has covered classics like Gamen
Liwumak Awilla and Maa Sihina Pathum Bindala. Known for his bass solos and musical versatility,
Chaminda continues to inspire the next generation through guitar classes in bass and classical
styles.
