Chicago-based rapper/producer Charles “Chuck” Babis brings his bouncing lyrical flow and old school flavor to contemporary hip-hop. Known for songs like ‘Just Another Day’, Babis’ catchy bars and melodic playfulness feel new and nostalgic at once - an exciting feat for an emerging rap artist to accomplish. In 2021, Babis released his debut album, ‘Inside the Mind of Chucky Babis’, co-produced by thedeViator, with artwork by Isaiah Romo.
Following the album’s release, Babis stated that he’s most inspired by the artistic freedom and community that being a musician creates: “Music lets me push creative boundaries and experiment. Music helps me learn and grow as a person. As a language, music brings people together. I love being part of that. There’s nothing you can’t do.”
Originally from Joliet, Illinois, Babis grew up in a family of storytellers. His uncles Sam and Dan wrote rhymes, his mother penned short stories, and his father could spin a tale out of anything so storytelling runs in his blood. As a child, Babis wrote poetry and won school competitions. In 9th grade, Babis began writing songs - he released ‘Days Like This’ on Soundcloud with Deacon Fury. By 11th grade, Babis had dropped out of high school to pursue his dreams as an artist, working at a fast food joint to make ends meet. After working on his craft as an artist - writing rhymes, playing instruments and mastering recording equipment - he began working on his first album. The rest is history
