Charles J. & The Conquistadors have launched onto the world music scene by creating & bringing their own unique musical sound of fusing traditional country music & authentic organic Latin music mixed with ranchera & bachata styles & rhythms. What country music is to America, ranchera is to Mexico. Ranchera has its own style of rhythm patterns and instruments which is authentic to Mexico. This is NOT mariachi or Tex-Mex! "I am not here to play the country music game, but to recreate it. Why can't there be an authentic English speaking country song in a ranchera or bachata? My goal is to create music with no boundaries. My first rule to my co-producer and engineer was that there were no rules. We create whatever and wherever the musical Universe takes us. I had this idea of this music in my head for literally 20+ years, only I was not in the position to make it happen whereas now I am." Charles J. Jones was born and raised in Southern California to a Hispanic mother who was born in a small pueblo deep in the mountains of El Tigre, Sonora Mexico, and a Irish/Native American Indian father from Baltimore, Maryland. Charles who is bi-lingual in Spanish, has had the fortunate ability to live in other countries and different parts of the U.S. such as Mexicali, Mexico, Ireland, Sweden, Miami, Baltimore and 16 years in Nashville. Charles was a former country music major label recording artist signed to Universal/Rising Tide records in the late 90's that went by the name J.C. Jones.
