A founding member of Do Make Say Think and Broken Social Scene, Charles Spearin has been an active part of Toronto’s vibrant music scene the early 90s.
His latest release Music for 32 Phones Played Simultaneously is an album that you cannot listen to on your own. It is a group-listening album only. Each track consists of a few seemingly random elements - a glitchy synth, a single cricket, a solo voice, a trumpet - but when all of the ‘songs’ are started at the same time and played together it becomes a cohesive symphony-like experience.
