Welsh and Bristolian but South London living multi-instrumentalist, composer and vocalist Charlie Pughe adapts his classical upbringing with an experimental and soulful R&B sound, that remains unsettled in any one particular genre.
Altering his practice to think of harmony as less theoretical has created an emphasis on the unique and nuanced aspects of his songwriting. Combining the importance he gives to the alternative with a passion for R&B and hip-hop.
In 2021, having written but not produced anything in the first two years of music school at Goldsmiths University of London, he issued his first EP, ‘Interacting with Strangers’ featuring frequent collaborator Logan Aspin with whom his most recent EP; Portraits of Places We Thought We Knew, has been created collaboratively.
