Chasing Daylight

Chasing Daylight is an alternative rock band from Singapore whose songs bring a message of courage, hope and freedom. The band was first conceived when singer Yap Wei Chiang and guitarist Hosea Choo met in a church some ten years ago and bonded over a love for guitars and rock n’ roll. Inspired to write songs that could cross the spiritual-secular divide, the two friends set out armed with rock music and honest questions about faith and life.

Notable highlights from a decade of making music together include being selected for the Singapore National Arts Council’s Music Mentorship Programme in 2016, as well as playing at major events like Urban Ventures Street Carnival, Baybeats Open Stage and Sofar Sounds Singapore. The band crossed a major milestone with the release of their eponymous debut EP in September 2017, playing a launch show at the *SCAPE Ground Theatre to a crowd of 400 people. Believing music can make a difference, the band has also collaborated with organisations such as Samaritans of Singapore to raise conversations about suicide and depression in Singapore.

With a new sonic sound and new image, Chasing Daylight kicked off a new season of music with 2 trailblazing singles, ‘<a href="spotify:album:01thKtElstG7WAWfRylWU0" data-name="You Are The Song">You Are The Song</a>’, and ‘Heartbreak. The band released their second EP &#34;The Relentless Pursuit of A Human Kind&#34; in November 2022.
