Chasing Space

Chasing Space's raw, funk-infused style draws upon a wide variety of influences from the American and European House sounds of the 90's and beyond. The duo first fell in love with House Music during their early years of clubbing at Johannesburg hot-spots such as Truth Nightclub where they would later play along-side artists such as Ben Rau, Purple Disco Machine, Miguel Campbell and many more…
In 2017 the pair began hosting a series of small showcases and parties in Jo’burg’s downtown Maboneng precinct under the event name ‘Gaplife’. They soon decided to make things official by launching the brand as a digital record label with long-time friend and collaborator Toochi.
They made their production debut in July 2019 with the release of their Factory Floors EP, a 4-track offering they put out on Gaplife. They soon followed up with the 'Don't Step On My Shoes EP' which dropped on Kenny Dope's Dopewax in September 2019. In Early 2020 the pair released ‘Body Talk’, a dubbed-out dance floor groove as part of the various artists release which dropped on their label.
The combination of this duo's artistic tastes, ambitions and their street-wise Jo'burg spirit makes for an exciting brand of House that is uniquely their own. Chasing Space.
