Chene is a passionate worshipper, songwriter, and lover of Jesus whose greatest joy is found in crafting lyrics and melodies that glorify Him. Her worship journey deepened at Freedom Centre—a church marked by its relentless pursuit of the presence of the Lord. In 2023, Chene felt a stirring from the Holy Spirit that led her into songwriting, a calling she continues to embrace with wholehearted devotion. Through every note and lyric, her heart's desire is to create music that draws people closer to God.
Originally from South Africa, Chene and her husband Jacques, along with their two children, Megan and Matthew, made the life-changing decision to immigrate to New Zealand in 2017. Now settled in the beautiful city of Tauranga, the Roux family calls this vibrant coastal community home. While her roots are grounded in family and faith, Chene’s music is a reflection of her deep love for Jesus and the journey He continues to lead her on.
