Duo combo Sam Friend and Curtis Nystrom comprise Cherry Jungle. The two became quick buddies coming up in Miami, bouncing around the music scene in different projects. They'd make a habit of hanging out, bonding over basketball and instruments. A flow and rapport formed, overlapping on bills, in studio, on stage, and at sun-drenched jam sessions. Cut to when they both wound up based in Brooklyn, where they began writing for this thing in between stints on the road with other groups. Getting back and settling in they kept tinkering, and the collab coined a name. What came was a synthy, psyche-pop outfit that mixes live, analog, and programmed components into what is this project.
