Most up and coming recording artists have a habit of imitating those who’ve been in the industry. It’s hard to blame them, with most of the creativity in music being taken. Finding a dedicated passion towards the art can be a challenge, yet Cheska Cruz took that with ease.

On her own independently released singles ‘Intro’ and ‘One Night,’ her creative production shines through. Inspired by the likes of Brandy and JoJo, she mixes the sun-kissed nostalgia present in R&B records from the 2000s with the sounds of today, the songs framing themselves as snapshots of Cheska’s life, each sound authentically her. In 2021, her eighth single, “Beijing”, was her first to hit editorial playlists on Apple Music and Amazon Music. Since then, her following singles, “20 Minutes”, “Other Than Love”, and more, have also made their way onto Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists.

Growing up surrounded by instruments and people that inspired her to hone her craft has shaped her into a motivated, capable and intuitive artist. Cheska has started to branch out in her career by songwriting for various artists, as well as performing live in various cities such as Windsor, Toronto, and Detroit. With a promising trajectory, Cheska Cruz is undoubtedly an artist to keep your eye (or ear) on.
