Coupling progressive, immersive sounds with compelling and complimentary beats, the music of Chill Wil both engages and calms - inspiring fresh ideas and a wider state of mind.
Award-winning producer and engineer Will Madera sits at the helm of this progressive lofi project, named for his chillhop alter-ego, Chill Wil. Drawing on his long history of creating ear-catching beats and hooks, Will combines that successful formula with new sounds and live instrumentation from his band to help build the engaging, vibey soundscapes that he envisions for each Chill Wil track.
After years mixing and traveling the world with top-billing artists, Will Madera knows how to work from anywhere in the world, under any circumstances. While this project was years in the making, when faced with extended time off the road due to COVID-19, Will took that open window as a sign to double down on his work and take this new step as a progressive Chillhop artist and producer. A few long distance phone calls later, the Chill Wil Band (Eric Friedlander, Yoel Garcia) was formed, and the team began creating sounds from across the country that are as diverse tonally as they are geographically.
With the release of 808:2020, Chill Wil takes its first steps towards the creation of a lofi catalog that offers fresh ideas into the lofi music conversation without jarring the psyche of our vibe-hungry, chill-seeking audience.
