Chilla Kiana

When singer-songwriter Chilla Kiana feels something new, the first thing she does is take out her phone and write it down. A rising star in the music scene, Kiana broke through in 2016 with her Disney song “The Glow”. Raised and home-schooled in Surabaya, she started writing songs when she was 10, exploring a wide array of music influenced by Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, and Jimi Hendrix. She started her career writing songs on piano, then released “My Indonesia” as a tribute to her home country at 14. Chilla Kiana said the point when her career really started to shift was when she was signed to Disney. Though her music career was beginning to take off, Kiana has never been one to settle down. She took a few years from music to rediscover herself and passion. She is back and readier than ever to chart her own path.

All of this, of course, is only just the beginning. Kiana doesn’t want her music to be defined by a single sound or genre. She believes that music, like the world, is ever-evolving and always changing. But one thing stays true: music will be her avenue to impact and reach people.
