Chris Barr

Music in its simplest, rawest form has always been a part of Chris Barr’s life. The multi-disciplinary, Kenyan-Sudanese creative set out to intentionally hone in on his craft after the positive response to his staged production in partial fulfilment of his course work in University. After active participation in the drama and choir club, he went on to compete on the televised singing competition ‘I Can Sing’, after which he went on to pursue music professionally.

Since then he has made major strides singing and arranging background vocals for artists like Kethan, Kinoti and SERRO. Notable among his ensuing creative endeavors are his collaborations with producer SHLM blending R&B, Soul and Lo-Fi sounds.

Currently collaborating with acclaimed producers Waithaka and Giggz, Chris Barr is on a quest to find sounds that ring truest to his artistic identity. ‘Slow’ and ‘Like You’, his first two singles, are a result of this partnership.

With every release, he invites his listeners to embrace and explore their humanity. As he continues to grow and evolve, Chris Barr is set to leave an indelible mark on the R&B genre and beyond.
