Chris Basden's music, self-described as “songs for people who like today’s country, but liked ‘90s country more,” runs the gamut from soft spoken and vulnerable to raucous and bonfire-ready. His influences are many, but at his core is a love for everything country.
He discovered his passion for music at an early age, eschewing typical schoolboy friendships in favor of chasing simple melodies on his grandmother's old upright piano or, a few years later, writing his own song lyrics and singing them to anyone who would listen.
More recently, Chris has further refined his craft as a musician and songwriter, with thousands of hours under his belt performing as a sideman musician, band member, and solo artist. In the summer of 2023, Chris was selected as a finalist for, and eventually won, the North Dakota State Fair Hometown Sound Competition.
