Chris Hobart

Chris Hobart is an acclaimed singer-songwriter born in Wickford, Essex in 1987. He attended college in Southend, where he studied music and also perfected his craft by performing in various local bars and pubs around the London and Essex areas.

Having fought his own battles with depression and depersonalisation, Chris has said that he wants his music to help end the stigma still attached to mental illness and bring people together in a supportive community. By addressing mental illness through his poignant and heartfelt lyrics, Chris has shared his story, found a greater sense of peace and proves that recovery is achievable when you find your true passion in life.

Chris cites Bob Dylan, Bon Iver, R.E.M, Ben Howard and Imagine Dragons as big influences on his musical style. His hard-hitting lyrics often tackle very difficult subjects with a great level of sensitivity, openly exploring his own life experiences and his recovery from depression. By combining acoustic guitar with ambient electric guitars, Chris creates beautiful and complex soundscapes which take the listener on a journey and often take unexpected turns.

Since deciding to go solo, Chris has enjoyed great success and built a strong following. The honesty of his lyrics, the purity of his voice and the moving beauty of his musical arrangements have attracted many followers, and have made Chris Canon a musician to watch in the future.
