Chris Link is a singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist from Floyd, Virginia, best known as the driving creative force behind the roots-driven Americana band The Deer Run Drifters. With a knack for heartfelt storytelling grounded in Appalachian tradition, Chris writes and performs songs that blend rugged acoustic textures with lyrical honesty and emotional depth.
Chris first made his mark on the local music scene as a busker alongside bandmate Shane Edgell in 2011, transforming street performances into a full-fledged regional act that captured the attention of Americana and roots audiences across the East Coast and Midwest.
As lead vocalist, primary songwriter, and acoustic guitarist, Chris’s voice carries a distinctive Appalachian resonance — its grit and authenticity reflecting the band’s small-town origins and deep musical roots. Under his creative leadership, The Deer Run Drifters self-released acclaimed albums like Appalachian Blues (2013) and Restless Youth (2015), earning praise for their blend of traditional folk, country, and alt-country influences.
After a hiatus following the band’s extensive U.S. touring in the mid-2010s, Chris and The Deer Run Drifters returned stronger than ever in the mid-2020s with renewed purpose, fresh material, and a commitment to the soulful, story-rich music that first defined their sound.
Chris released his first solo single in December 2025.
