Chris Treborn was born in Oakland, California and raised by his mother. As a product of divorced parents, he struggled with his identity as they both got remarried and had children. In 1996, after 2PAC died, Chris’ bay sister died of S.I.D.S. at just 87 days old. These two events catapulted him into a search into life and death as he questioned GOD. This turned his poems into songs. And after his step mom gave him a Bible, he began investigating further. After falling into the wrong arms, two of his friends asked him to join their rap group Souljaz Of Salvation. His first rap name was T.E.A.R.Z. (the endless and relentless zephyr). These friends also brought him to church on a Friday night, and the conviction of the youth pastor’s sermon allowed Chris to give his life to the LORD. Not knowing what that really meant, and not being truly discipled, the rhymes inspired by Holy Spirit ministered to Chris himself as he found a new identify in Christ, Jesus.
