With skills sharpened in the New Orleans gospel scene, her visceral lyrics, soulful voice, and commanding stage presence, combine to make her an unstoppable force in this new era of funk and soul music. Her upcoming single "A Day Like Today” is but a glimpse of the power and raw emotion that this unique artist is capable of, and draws influence from legends like Aretha Franklin, Allen Toussaint, and more modern influences including Lauryn Hill and Amy Winehouse. As a featured vocalist in his touring band, electro-soul ambassador, Griz, says she has a “voice sweeter than honey,” and Trombone Shorty calls her his “boss with the sauce,” she spent 3 years as a singer in his band.
