Born in Angmering and based in Brighton, Christian Le Surf is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist creating homemade experimental pop worlds that dive into inclinations of post-rock, folk, and indie pop. Taking a chameleonic approach to his work, you can be sure to find odysseys within songs surrounding themes of politics and heartbreak, or vast polyrhythmic minimalism projects, all the while maintaining a distinct nostalgia-infused sound palette that has enjoyed cult success and BBC Introducing airplay.
Christian has enjoyed his growth in the Brighton live music circuit, coming off the back of projects like his 2021 debut album <a href="spotify:album:54ogaecykDP4JXojlwGg88" data-name="Bontempi Cher Lloyd 1999">Bontempi Cher Lloyd 1999</a>, or his two back-to-back EPs dropped in October 2023, <a href="spotify:album:5z5Oc6HFjlRjOVHqlxNDL9" data-name="The King's Meadow">The King's Meadow</a> and <a href="spotify:album:0EGph5wpbFH5E528AoXW4f" data-name="The Scroll">The Scroll</a>, the latter of which saw a sell-out show at The Folklore Rooms complete with stage interviews, a disorienting live performance and sweet song performances to boot. Now operating within a full live backing band, Christian is currently knee-deep in production on his sophomore album, "Chicago, the Moon!", that is sure to be explosive, experimental, and exciting all at once!
