Christopher Coleman is a Tasmanian singer and multi-instrumentalist whose songwriting is characterised by a dry domestic observation and a rambling stream of consciousness.
The winner of Triple J Unearthed (2012) and the Telstra Road To Discovery (2013), Coleman and his Collective released their debut self titled album (2014) to strong critical reviews. Extensive touring continued throughout the US, UK, New Zealand and Australia. 2016 saw the release of their second album Ah, Winter which garnered organic national acclaim but due to health, Coleman was unable to tour.
In 2018 Coleman released the EP 'Weak Month' through his own label, Oscar Treehouse Records. He also debuted his current project, Christopher Coleman & The Great Escape; an eight piece supergroup featuring members of Augie March and The Drones and recorded his third and yet to be released album, The Great Tasmanian Escape. MONA financed it and refer to him as "a legit Tassie treasure".
