Xolani Kiwa (23), recording as ChriX, is a South African-borne rapper, singer/songwriter and record producer from The Vaal. His first recorded single Wings, released early 2018, caught the attention of many of his current fans. The 2018 record led ChriX to exploring further into this new avenue, leading him to record his debut EP titled Implode, which certified him as a necessary voice into the Hip-Hop scene. The grimy production and intricate flows in the project were ever-so attention grabbing that they raised comparisons to his fellow role models such as Nasty C and A-Reece. ChriX was later on invited to do a live session with Ambient Sounds Sessions, which is an established music band, re-creating studio records into equally or more enjoyable stripped down versions and upload these to YouTube. The works introduced ChriX to an even larger audience. This led him to working with artists such as TboydaFlame & Yomaikabeats. The need to keep growing encouraged the rapper to drop records like No Bad Vibes, Loco & Disturbed, featuring Tylon & Dowpe, making his audience want to hear what more he has in store. In the year 2021, ChriX released his EP titled ‘Beyond Me’. Which not only allowed him to further grow his audience but also placed him in the 2021 Sportscene #PutMeOn Top 30 finalists. The following year he released Crossroads, his best work to date. The future is looking bright for the young rapper, and he is definitely one of the artists on the come up to look out for.
