Perth alcoholics, Chub Rub, are a new wave of Hardcore inspired Punks. From 6168, a hole in WA’s South West, the band was formed by Izaac (Bass), Max (Guitar) and Cooper (Drums) in 2022. The group was later completed with the arrival of front man and pisswreck Cunno (Vocals). Less than a week later the group played their first live performance in Kwinana, and the rest is history.
After formation, they played numerous Perth shows and placed in band related competitions, despite not formally releasing any music for another 6 months. In June 2023 Chub Rub completed and released their breakout EP: ‘SNIFF THIS’ recorded by Alex of 6168 SCUM RECORDS and @PISS CORNER.
The bands latest endeavour,
“Break Yo Neck” marks a step forward for the group. The single acts as a precursor to a body of work set to come out later in the year. With this step forward comes a new, more refined sound, harsh tones and subject matter as well as a fusion of experimental riffs and witty lyricism. As well as this, the single is the first to be recorded, mixed and mastered by DIYUI STUDIOS.
Just like their songs, the 4 piece know no bounds, throwing party after party alongside free gigs at skateparks- and anywhere you can fit a drum kit.
