I moved to LA in 2014. I was having conversations with Skrillex’s management and at the time he was in talks with <a href="spotify:artist:2qxJFvFYMEDqd7ui6kSAcq" data-name="Zedd">Zedd</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1rjeVTt9Ra1ldvN7SpeK0G" data-name="Max Martin">Max Martin</a> about starting a publishing company. When their managers heard what I was writing in NY they immediately set me up with a week of sessions. I worked with <a href="spotify:artist:1okJ4NC308qbtY9LyHn6DO" data-name="BloodPop®">BloodPop®</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:1aji1uMIIghmeNmhanEqyD" data-name="Illangelo">Illangelo</a> during that week and saw a future for myself in this world so I moved to Koreatown and did as many sessions as possible while learning Ableton in my studio apartment. My new friend <a href="spotify:artist:1BqIPGrEhdjdLFpUzce2dh" data-name="Durante">Durante</a> was working for Skrillex’s label and he came over to work on a song with me and gave me Ableton and showed me a few things. The song we worked on ended up being <a href="spotify:track:1qD89wKHe3JtCuTjTJxn2b" data-name="Slow Burn">Slow Burn</a>. During my first year in LA I went to as many events as possible and did as many sessions as I could and in my second year in LA I was signed to a songwriting deal with <a href="spotify:artist:5he5w2lnU9x7JFhnwcekXX" data-name="Skrillex">Skrillex</a>. I worked on releases with <a href="spotify:artist:1aji1uMIIghmeNmhanEqyD" data-name="Illangelo">Illangelo</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1BqIPGrEhdjdLFpUzce2dh" data-name="Durante">Durante</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1KpCi9BOfviCVhmpI4G2sY" data-name="Tchami">Tchami</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1anyVhU62p31KFi8MEzkbf" data-name="Chance the Rapper">Chance the Rapper</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1Vxf1UfzcxqzqItoOA0DDT" data-name="Vindata">Vindata</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6OgklJh1e1Z9S1Q2IQsHgy" data-name="Imad Royal">Imad Royal</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1NpKmfDYMhw1KJIIUCsX4O" data-name="Mija">Mija</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3hJNrfFurTlGFglmBwyFFM" data-name="Grace Weber">Grace Weber</a>. I wrote songs with countless others and created a side project called <a href="spotify:artist:54z6Yu7hq8ZTv6m6d1Xi5J" data-name="Rulers">Rulers</a>. The EP was called <a href="spotify:track:4yiBnSQ4wWQIgpM2p5Wu1m" data-name="Don't Mind">Don't Mind</a> and the songs were produced by <a href="spotify:artist:6YtlR8MLfO6azxwOKAvEi3" data-name="Pomo">Pomo</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6OgklJh1e1Z9S1Q2IQsHgy" data-name="Imad Royal">Imad Royal</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6mPl1Nq6hMkto7vsF0PfGi" data-name="Trooko">Trooko</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7xDiCwbxPFkL5mFgjirxpV" data-name="Nate Fox">Nate Fox</a> and more. As my writing term came to an end, I decided to put more effort into releasing and it came to fruition in December 2022 as the album, <a href="spotify:track:6ArWDWa4Gj425qEy9aB9iA" data-name="Champagne">Champagne</a>. I then released <a href="spotify:album:279JzkCWhARe44LLzoRJGs" data-name="Brainbox">Brainbox</a>, which was named ‘Best Albums of 2024’ by Spin Magazine and my latest album which is entitled, <a href="spotify:album:6ZZPWCl5yaoN38trCaiesp" data-name="The Weight">The Weight</a>, and goes back to my folk/americana roots.
