Chuck's Beat - one of the most authentic Chuck Berry tribute bands in the world, playing his music with joy and fervor, both as it sounded in the 50's, but also with modern interpretations to reflect the development of this legend, both on stage and on record.
As an old fan and notorious concert visitor all over the world, Swedish Thomas Einarsson became acquainted with Chuck Berry's bassist Jim Marsala and with Chuck himself and visited him both on stage and at home several times. Thomas felt the need to manage Chuck Berry's music "for real" and together with new and old playmates, Chuck's Beat was created, named by Chuck's son Charles Berry Jr. After playing several gigs, the band decided to record a selection of songs from the repertoire. The self-titled album is recorded in Skimmer Studios, Ljungby (SE) and produced by Dennis Åhman and Thomas Einarsson. The album features Thomas Einarsson (vocals, rhythm & lead guitar, lap steel guitar), Jim Marsala (bass guitar), Daniel Trustrup Rossing (piano & vocals), Peter Hjärpe (drums), Magnus Johansson (saxophone) and Tom Johansson (backup vocals & percussion).
Jim Marsala on bass behind Chuck Berry was always a guarantee of a good gig in the 70s, 80s and 90s. When Chuck Berry decided in 2005 to acquire a steady band in Europe, the rumor had reached St Louis about Daniel Trustrup Rossing, a fantastic 20-year-old Norwegian talent on piano. He got the job and simply mastered everything Chuck Berry could wish for from a pianist.
