Hip-hop artist <a href="spotify:artist:1P7c5IF35f21jgW4hIngQl" data-name="Chyllz The Genius">Chyllz The Genius</a> is an emerging talent in the music industry who’s been honing his writing and rapping talents for more than a decade.


With a knack for emotional, relatable lyrics, Chyllz specializes in using his raw sound to paint pictures. He effortlessly tells meaningful stories of daily struggles and relationships that tug between good and evil. And though his distinctive rapping and vocal style has influences of everyone from Future to Rick Ross, it can’t be duplicated.


Born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1991, Chyllz grew up listening to fellow Michigan native Eminem as well as Tupac Shakur, Nas, Lil Boosie and the Notorious B.I.G. By age 14, he was making rap beats on a keyboard that his dad gave him. The skill sparked a creativity. Local producers, rappers and engineers started purchasing beats from him while he was still in high school.


His own development as a rapper came in fits and starts until recently. Determined to get off the hardened streets, he put his heart and soul into his passion and completed a demo mix. He’s now devoting himself full time to his craft managed by Lizzie Grubman, a well known Celebrity Publicist based in New York. Lizzie took Chyllz under her wing in 2018, offering her expertise to master his talents. If it’s good to hear from an artist that can transcend the genre, then it’s good to hear from Chyllz.


Chyllz remains based in Grand Rapids. He’s a proud dad to Nevaeh, 13, and Kingston, 4.
