Francesco Santucci, alias Cicci, is considered one of the "pioneers" of Italian jazz. Cicci participated in the most important international festivals, such as the Comblain La Tour Festival (in Belgium in 1961), the Montreux Festival (in Switzerland in 1967, with <a href="spotify:artist:20DQ5iGt7d5ItByXK6lWo2" data-name="Antonello Vannucchi">Antonello Vannucchi</a>, Gegé Munari and <a href="spotify:artist:4VcMULKNEFjwurIvv6ZHuG" data-name="Giovanni Tommaso">Giovanni Tommaso</a>), the Juan Les Pins Festival (in France in 1969, with Lilian Terry), and others. His collaborations in Italy are many, including Carlo Loffredo, Marcello Rosa, Tony Scott, Romano Mussolini, Enzo Scoppa (with whom he recorded some albums), Roberto Podio, Maurizio Giammarco, Maurizio Majorana, Franco D'Andrea, Bruno Biriaco and Luca Ruggero Jacovella.
He was the first trumpet soloist of the Rai orchestra for more than twenty years; he has played and collaborated with many renowned jazz musicians such as Lionel Hampton, Gato Barbieri, Kenny Clarke, Gil Evans, among many, and composition for cinema, such as Armando Trovajoli, Riz Ortolani and Ennio Morricone; for Morricone, he recorded, among the numerous soundtracks, the theme for solo trumpet Playing Love in the film The Legend of the Pianist on the Ocean by Giuseppe Tornatore a piece which in the stage fiction is performed live by the character of Max Tooney (Pruitt Taylor Vince).
In recent years, Cicci has lived and worked mainly in the USA.
